Spanish “plus” Medicine:

This Spanish course is specially designed for people already in the medical and health profession. It will help you acquire the vocabulary and the expressions which are most commonly used when dealing with patients and patients’ relatives. Students applying for the Spanish Language combined with medicine lessons should have at least an intermediate level (B1- B2) in Spanish to participate. The course will develop a student’s listening and speaking skills and help them to appreciate and respond correctly to the differences in formality of different socio-economic contents. Grammer, vocabulary and expressions specific to the medical field will be emphasized and the use of authentic, technical tools used as a study aid. Credits for US University students can be awarded in negotiation with their home university. Students that attend 80% of the lessons will receive a Certificate of Attendance detailing the content of the course, number of lessons attended and the level achieved during the course.

4/6 credits can be awarded for around 100 lessons. That number of credits can easily be obtained if the student complements their medicine course with another week of General Spanish and culture.
