English
In English we offer either the Cambridge Examination or the TOEFL.
Cambridge Examinations
First Certificate in English (FCE)
Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)
Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
The course runs for 10, 12 or 16 weeks depending on location and the examination is taken the week after the course ends. Depending on which centre you choose, your lessons will be pure examination preparation or a mixture of preparation and general language. Immerse yourself entirely in examination practice, or opt for a few lessons a week to top up your existing knowledge: the choice is yours.
TOEFL Preparation
TOEFL, the Test of English as a Foreign Language, is an academic qualification. A high score is proof of your ability to study academic subjects in English and can be used to support your application to university. TOEFL is also recognised by many international employers.

Spanish
The DELE exam
The Instituto Cervantes, the Spanish equivalent of the British Council or the Goethe Institute, organises exams in the Spanish language known as "Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera" (or DELE). These are offered at three levels: 'Inicial', 'Intermedio' and 'Superior'.
These levels are roughly equivalent to Cambridge ESOL's English language exams: PET, First Certificate and Proficiency (i.e. intermediate, advanced and very advanced).
All three exams include reading comprehension, writing, listening comprehension, grammar and vocabulary, and oral expression components. All five parts of the exam are taken on the same day. The "Inicial" exam takes a total of 2 hours 50 minutes to complete; "Intermedio" lasts a total of 3 hours 45 minutes and the "Superior" exam 4 hours.
