College Credits
College Credits
If you are an American citizen and wish to study another language abroad with Passport Language then you may be able to use the academic credit for credit back home in the US.
It is possible for you to earn course credits for your study abroad programme in many of our language schools. The following Schools have been able to award academic credit to students attending their language courses:
Sienna
Fukuoka
Faro
Lisbon
Seville
Vejer De La Frontera
It is very important that you check first with the University at which you are currently studying to see if they can give you academic credit. This is because all courses are subject to approval and need to be verified as to whether the credit to earn at your foreign language school is transferrable to your current University.
It may be that your University wishes to see examples of academic transcripts for your language programme abroad. Many of our language schools are able to provide these transcripts to your Study abroad Department as they already have existing agreements for the transfer of academic credit with an American University or College. If your University does not have an agreement with one of our language schools then it may be possible for your University to award you credits through another University that already has an agreement.
Important Information:
1 Please contact your Study Abroad Advisor to find out the requirements regarding study abroad academic credit before booking your language course.
2 If your University wishes to see an example of an academic transcript/ program syllabus, or details of the teaching methods of our language school please inform Passport Language of exactly what information is required. We will then be happy to send this documentation to you, or to your Study Abroad Advisor.
3 Your college in America will charge you a fee for the transfer of academic credit and the price will vary depending upon your University/college and the amount of credits you wish to transfer. The fees for this are separate and in addition to that of your language school course and are usually payable to your University or your language school abroad. Your University will be able to inform you of the cost for transferring academic credit.
4 Please ensure that all the registration paperwork required by your university is completed before you arrive at your language school. Your University may wish the teachers at your study abroad programme to complete paperwork, so do remember to bring this paperwork with you to the language school.
