Bildungsurlaub

Bildungsurlaub (Educational Leave in the Federal Republic of Germany)

If you are a German citizen then you may be entitled to a period of educational leave to study a language abroad. This is a fantastic way for you to enjoy studying abroad, increase your work prospects and still get paid your normal salary. You can take 5 days per year or apply for 10 consecutive days from your 2 year allowance; this option is preferable if wishing to study a language abroad at one of our schools.

You must inform your employer in due course and if you wish to utilize the Bildungsurlaub programme and it cannot be compensated for sick leave. You should remain on your usual salary during your Bildungsurlaub leave.
